About Us

We at Geek-a-Cycle Inter-Galactic Headquarters strive to produce a good product to improve Geeks fitness everywhere.

It all started when our beloved Founder's mother started nagging him about spending too much time staring at a computer screen. You've undoubtedly heard it: "Get out and get some exercise!"

Our beloved Founder took Mom's admonishment to heart and started thinking about doing exercise while staring at a computer screen. After months of experimentation and many prototypes, the current Geek-a-Cycle was developed.

The advice freely distributed to all Geeks is, "Listen to your Mother."

We are located in Oregon City, Oregon, which is about 30 miles south of Portland along the beautiful Willamette river and among tall Douglas Fir trees.

A personal testimony

As stated above, I was driven to do something because of my mother. As the Geek-a-Cycle development progressed I started using the various incarnations of the Geek-a-Cycle while I worked at my PC. In the course of three months, I can proudly state that I have lost 24 pounds (as of January, 17, 2005).

I started at 210 pounds (I am 6' 1" tall). This, according to the charts is boarder-line overweight. I am now down to 186 pounds and I expect to drop even more. I have a target of 175 pounds.

As a result of loosing this 24 pounds I find that I have more energy. I am not lugging around a 24-pound back pack that was with me night and day.

Also, I hurt my knee a couple of years ago (an old guy playing like as if he was a young guy) and it has been bothering me quite a bit. Now after use of the Geek-a-Cycle my knee does not bother me at all. I cannot say if this is due to the non-impact nature of the Geek-a-Cycle or if my knees appreciate not having to bear as much weight. Either way, my knee does not hurt any more.
